Run for a Cause

We are proud to partner with the St. Petersburg Free Clinic to raise funds for their Food Bank, which feeds an average of 60,000 hungry community members a month.  When you participate in the Sunshine City 5K, we will donate $1 for each mile you run (up to $3 per participant) to the St Petersburg Free Clinic Food Bank.  You can also make an additional donation online when you register for any St Pete Run Fest event, or create your own fundraising page.

Did you know 1 in 7 adults and 1 in 4 children in Pinellas County are considered hungry? The St. Petersburg Free Clinic is closing the hunger gap by making sure these individuals receive the food they need every month. Clients can benefit from a number of programs including a food pantry which distributes emergency groceries; the Pack-A-Sack Program which gives weekend food to hungry children; and Hearty Homes which distributes food to homebound senior citizens. In 2016, the Food Bank distributed a record-breaking 4 million pounds of food in the community serving more individuals than ever before.

The St. Petersburg Free Clinic is doing more than just feeding people. They’re restoring hope to seniors. Nourishing kids so they can excel in school. And making families whole again. When you support the Free Clinic, you are providing hope to the hungry and help to the hurting.  The St Petersburg Free Clinic is a caring organization helping to meet basic, unserved human needs through resources, volunteers, and advocacy.  They provide temporary assistance for families and individuals in need of the basics of food, shelter, health care, limited financial assistance, and referral information.

Support Kids At All Childrens Hospital

PeliKids Youth Runs has teamed up with Johns Hopkins All Childrens Hospital and #Gold Together for Childhood Cancer Awareness to raise funds for the fight against childhood cancer and blood disorders.  A portion of each entry fee will be donated.  If participants want to create their own fundraising page to raise even more funds from family & friends, they can do that during the registration process!

You can also donate directly to our St Pete Run Fest JHACH/Gold Together campaign!

The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute provides clinical care and research trials for children, adolescents and young adults throughout Florida.  Every day 43 children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. One out of 5 children will not survive pediatric cancer.  We can help change that!

Support Goodwill’s Education Programs

The St Pete Half Marathon & Relay has teamed up with Goodwill-Suncoast to support Goodwill’s Life Skills Development and GED education program for Goodwill program participants…2 critical areas that require additional support from our friends and neighbors in the region. Funds will provide people with disabilities and individuals challenged by employment with skills training, job coaching and placement, on-the-job paid work experience, and transportation for people with disabilities and for those readying to re-enter the workforce and community. This is what is helping these individuals reach their goals and achieve success in the workplace!

When you participate in the St Pete Half Marathon or Relay, a portion of your entry fee will be donated to Goodwill-Suncoast.  You can also make an additional donation online when you register for any St Pete Run Fest event, or create your own fundraising page.
