Outback Steakhouse Sunshine City 5k

Known as the “Sunshine City”, St. Pete holds the Guinness record for most consecutive sunny days – 768 to be exact. Join in the Run Fest weekend on Saturday with a 3.1 mile run along St. Pete’s beautiful waterfront. Set a PR on this USATF certified flat and fast course, or run just for fun with your family and friends.

The Course

Your run starts on Bayshore Drive next to the world-renowned Salvador Dali Museum, overlooking the waters of Tampa Bay. From there head up North Shore drive, along the scenic waterfront parks, and through the historic Old Northeast neighborhood. Then head back for a photo finish on Bayshore Drive next to the Mahaffey Theater plaza.

There is one Hydration Station on the course, featuring Gatorade Endurance Formula and water.  There is also a Hydration Station at the start/finish area.

SUNSHINE CITY 5K TRAINING PLAN

What do I get?

Each runner will receive a high quality, custom-designed shirt, reuseable ECO-tote, and run bib with B-tag timing chip at packet pick-up.  Finishers receive a St Pete inspired finisher medal, and a reuseable water bottle.  Post-race festivities include craft beer from 3 Daughters Brewing and Green Bench Brewing, mimosas from Mermosa, Titos + Blood Bros bloody marys, the Rollin’ Oats Wellness Village (full of healthy, organic food like smoked salmon and vegan kielbasa), food from Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba’s Italian Grill, plus Paciugo gelato.  Plus, enjoy live entertainment!

We are proud to partner with the St. Petersburg Free Clinic to raise funds for their Food Bank, which feeds an average of 60,000 hungry community members a month.  When you participate in the St Pete Half Marathon, 10K, or Sunshine City 5K, we will donate 20 cents for each mile you run to the St Petersburg Free Clinic Food Bank.  You can also make an additional donation online when you register for any St Pete Run Fest event.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a service fee for online registration, charged by imAthlete.  There is no mail-in option, but you can register with cash/check at our expo booth at various events.  There are NO REFUNDS of entry fees or service fees, no exceptions.  Bib numbers are NON-TRANSFERABLE.  You may CANCEL your entry by October 31, 2019, and receive a discount code, equal to 75% of your entry fee, for use towards the 2020 St. Pete Run Fest, via the imAthlete registration site.

Race Details

DATE: Saturday, November 16th

START TIME:  8:45am

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 8 years old on race day

TIME LIMIT:  1 hour  

PARTICIPANT LIMIT:  2,500 runners

HYDRATION ON COURSE: There is one HYDRATION STATION along the course, providing water and Gatorade Endurance Formula. 

HEADPHONES:  You can wear headphones on the course, but please keep the sound at a level where you can hear instructions from course marshals, volunteers, and staff.

STROLLERS:  Strollers are allowed on the 5K course.  

PETS:  We love dogs, and they make great training partners, but for their safety and yours, please leave your pet at home on race day.
