St Pete Run Fest adds St Pete Pier to run courses for 2022
The 2022 St Pete Run Fest, set for the weekend of November 11-13th, will incorporate the St Pete Pier as part of its three run courses. The St Pete Run Fest, now in its fifth year (there was no event in 2020 due to Covid-19) is three days of festival fun, including 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon running events, Wellness Expo, live music, and local food and craft beer. Runners can also compete in “Challenges” that include running two, or even all three of the events.
Last year EndorFUN Sports, the local owners and producers of St Pete Run Fest, also produced the inaugural St Pete Pier Run 4 miler on July 4, 2021, as part of the postponed grand opening celebration for the Pier. This year, instead of a separate event on July 4th, EndorFUN Sports will incorporate the Pier Run as part of the St Pete Run Fest in November. The 5K and 10K courses on Saturday, as well as the Half Marathon course on Sunday will include a full loop of the Pier. “We are so excited to work with the City of St Pete to add our beautiful Pier to St Pete Run Fest. It’s something we have wanted to do since the Pier opened”, says Ryan Jordan, co-owner of St Pete Run Fest. “Our run courses have always highlighted the spectacular scenery and landmarks of St Pete, and now the St Pete Pier will become part of that tradition”, says Jordan.
The St Pete Run Fest courses start and finish on Bayshore Drive in front of the Mahaffey Theater, where the Wellness Expo and Packet Pickup take place in the Plaza. Post-race festivities take place in Albert Whitted Park. In 2021, BibRave, which ranks races of all categories, named Run Fest’s St Pete Half Marathon its fifth-best half marathon of the last decade. “Run Fest is a community-inspired event that attracts runners from all over the US and the world”, says Jordan.
Over the last four events, the St Pete Run Fest has raised thousands of dollars and increased community awareness for its charity partners, the St Pete Free Clinic’s food pantry, and the American Cancer Society’s #GoldTogether initiative to fight pediatric cancers.
